HRIS architecture systems
have three models that we can use in our companies that we work which is
standalone system model, data warehouse model, and single integrated system
model. Now, I will explain about standalone system model. This system has its own independent system
and no integration between each other. So, all business units have to send
updates via fax, telephone, mail, or in person. As a result, it will make the
process of communication are difficult to understand and being accepted
especially when doing a data analysis. Other than that, it also will cause
many-headed monster approach. It means
that, if all of the branches have to do their own system and believe that
his/her concessions are true, they will not accept others people opinion. This
model is usually being used in multinational organization.
The second model is data
warehouse model. In this model, the database will be set up for each region or
country and there are using same software system to communicate between each
other. So, all operating units can updated their information and will be easier
to solve problem in the organization and also to improve company around the
world. For example in international HRIS, there are used data warehouse model.
The International HRIS wants to balance between the local autonomy and central
oversight. So, with data warehouse model, they can fix the unbalanced skills
sets and operations around the world. It is because, the resources, knowledge,
innovation and so on can be shifted and shared among operating units. But,
there is not everyone is uses the same database and they are only use the same
software system.
The last model is single
integrated system model. This system is more advanced and using a high
technology compared to others. It’s generally located at corporate headquarters
and the employees will get information directly from the top management. So,
there is no need for a separate reporting database and the employees will not
lack of information because all the department will get all the information
that are provide by others (Beaman.K, et all, 2000).
