HUMAN RESOURCE RECRUITING AND STAFFING

All the company doing various techniques to identify, attract and hire qualified individual to work at their organizations (Cascio, 2006). However, there are many competition in the labor market and began to using the internet to attract job applicants. In the HRIS, I have learned that human resource also should expert in technology especially when we want to filled the vacancies in the company. We should not only just enter the requirements needed for candidates but the organization should plan how to resumes and screen out those applicants. The positive effects of recruitment is the company can attract highly qualified and competent people, ensure that the selected candidates stay longer with the company, make sure that there is match between cost and benefit and lastly help the firm create more culturally diverse workforce.

Now, I will explain about the meaning of recruitment. Recruitment is about attracting a pool of potential candidates can be selected by using application forms. The application should enable HR to make judgments’ on substantial matters such as the person’s education and to identify the person’s job references and supervisors. When we doing online recruitment, we should update the job description, job specification, and profile that our company needs. The job description explained about the activities and responsibilities of the job while job specification summarizes personal qualities, traits, skills, and background required to do the job. Internet recruiting is a cost-effective way to publicize openings; it generates more responses quicker and for a longer time at less cost than just about any other method. The important thing is, before we make a selection or staffing the employee, the companies have to do a tests, background investigations, and physical exams to identified viable candidates (Dessler. G, 2011).

Staffing process involves manning the organization structure through proper and effective selection, appraisal and development of the personnel’s to fill the roles assigned to the employees/workforce. According to Theo Haimann, staffing pertains to recruitment, selection, development and compensation of subordinates. For your information, staffing is an important managerial function because it is move along with planning, organizing, directing and controlling. The operations of these four functions depend upon the manpower which is available through staffing function. Second is staffing is a continuous activity. This is because staffing function continuous throughout the life an organization due to the transfers and promotions that take place.
